How to choose a nanny? Tips for parents in the Czech Republic
Choosing a nanny is one of the most important decisions for parents. Raising children requires time, energy and care, but what if work or other commitments require your attention? That's when a nanny comes to the rescue! But how to choose the right person who will become your ally in education and a friend for your child? Let's find out.
Note: In this article, we are looking at finding a nanny who works as a sole proprietor, not as an employee of an agency.
What is important to consider when choosing a nanny?
The first thing to understand is: what tasks do you want the nanny to do? Will she just look after the child or will she also be involved in the child's development?
In the case of infants or children under three years of age, according to the a regulation of the government of the Czech Republic, A nanny as an individual entrepreneur must have the appropriate education. There are no specific qualification requirements for older children. However, additional skills such as first aid knowledge, teaching experience or a medical certificate may be useful and will increase the credibility of the candidate .
Listen to your intuition
Experience and credentials are important, but even more important is a common language. Call the nanny for a trial meeting. This will not only help you get to know the person better, but also allow you to see how she interacts with your child.
